The album took 3 years to write and record, mostly in Machias, Maine, but a little bit in Kalamazoo, Michigan too. The process was long and arduous, basically learning to record and scraping by with pretty basic and limited equipment. The songs were extracted slowly from long, seemingly endless winters, the deepest depths of rich, summer tenderness, and eventually the calm, transcendent passing-period of Autumn.
